What a beautiful day of Trail Riding on the top of The Grand Mesa. This year’s course was on a 9 mile loop around 4 reservoirs, high mountain meadows, winding through the forest pines and aspens.  The trail was well marked with judged obstacles to challenge you and your equine along the trail.  Obstacles were similar to those you might expect to encounter during a high forest trail ride.  All riders were invited to try all the obstacles but if there’s something you’d rather not ask your horse to do, simply skip it.

Several riders and volunteers camped for the weekend. The area was large enough to accommodate riders, horses and rigs.  A reservoir is near-by for horse water.   

We had wonderful prizes in all four age groups. Awards were distributed immediately after the scoring was complete.
