Trail: County Line Trail
Trail Boss: CJ Simmers
Everyone enjoyed a thoroughly delightful birthday ride on August 26, 2023. CJ was the Trail Boss and selected a gorgeous loop on The Grand Mesa, from County Line Trailhead to the stunning Overlook. Sixteen riders were in attendance and Holly and her almost 1 year old granddaughter, Timmi, joined us for the Birthday potluck Juleen & Archie and Penny & Annie led the group, Cynthia and CJ stayed in the middle and Brandy and Alf rode sweep.
Most of us put on our rain gear with a couple of miles left in our ride. When we arrived back at the trailhead, the rain had stopped. CJ had selected a nice flat spot at the Trailhead for the fab post-ride picnic. Out came the tables, table cloths and a delicious spread of “PotLuck” selections and maybe even a beer or two! The real rain waited til we were pretty much done, but when it hit, we scattered like crazy, laughing in the rain!
Cynthia’s guest, Taya Jay from KVNF, came along and enjoyed herself on Juleen’s paint mare, Kookie. This was one of the funnest rides of the year; even though the skies were cloudy, the spirts were high and the horses were wonderful.
