Event: Solstice Fun Night & BBQ
Host: Louise
Date: June 22

The Fun Night Committee headed by Louise pulled off a fabulous event.  Mother Nature did rear-up and decided she wanted to “RAIN ON OUR PARADE” but the committee made the perfect call and postponed the event to the following evening.

Over 52 members, family and friends joined in the fun on Saturday.  All party goers were moved to the inside of the covered arena with the exception of the grill, to avoid potential rain that didn’t come to fruition.

The Costume Contest was the 1st event, Butterflies and Summer Solstice Fairies were the theme for the evening.   It was silly and fun and as one Butterfly said, “We should never miss a chance to dress up and act like a kid again”!  RIGHT!

Cheeseburger, BIG hot-dogs and the Pot Luck were the next “Fun Ticket.”  Louise donated the beef for the burgers while the club provided some tasty hotdogs and all the fixings.  The Potluck items were delicious and everyone enjoyed the party.

Three Honorary members were present, sisters Melanie and Lorie and 95 year old Rose Cox.  They were presented with Betty’s letter and a certificate and recognized for their contribution to the club.

Brandy and Betty had the games in the arena well thought-out and safe.  Two rider teams competed simultaneously against three or four other teams.   Throwing a bean bag in a bucket and knocking over boots on a mounting block showed off who had  played Corn Hole and who had NOT!  The toilet paper race had the teams navigate a pattern holding a long of a piece of TP.  The water balloons stuffed into a bra was a fan favorite and brought the most laughter.  The egg and spoon race had a twist, team mates passing the egg between each other without touching it?  Really???

“Hats Off” to Louise, Betty, Brandy, Lorie, Tracy R,  Julie, Kristin, Pete and Greg.  What a wonderful summer evening!
