CLINIC #1: BE YOUR HORSES LEADER | APRIL 19
Learn Effective Communication In-Hand & Under Saddle
How About Adding More Tools to Your Horsemanship Toolbox? Learn foundational skills, obstacles, sending for safety, relaxation tricks plus more!
We’re excited to confirm the coaching team and format for our upcoming equine clinic. We’ve assembled a group of highly experienced and respected members of our club. We believe this team’s diverse skills and experience will provide a comprehensive and enriching clinic for all participants. We’re confident that this format will allow for a great learning atmosphere.
We’ll be utilizing a proven format that was very successful in our 2024 clinics:
Whole Group Instruction: Each of our four coaches will begin by explaining and demonstrating a specific maneuver to the entire clinic.
Small Group Sessions: Participants will then be divided into four smaller groups, allowing for focused, hands-on instruction with each coach.
Our Coaching Team:
Estella: With years of experience, particularly with long-eared equines, Estella excels in groundwork and building respectful relationships. Her exceptional presentation skills break down complex maneuvers into easily understandable steps for both horse and rider. Estella has participated in clinics given by Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, Brad Cameron and Ty Evans.
Kate: BS in Equine Science (CSU): As the Rangeland Management Specialist and Forest Stock Team Lead for the GMUG National Forest, Kate brings a strong scientific background to her coaching. She is also a graduate of Ty Evans’ Master Class and has been mentored by him. Kate is a wonderful addition to the club.
Pamela: BS in Animal Science (University of Maine): Pamela’s extensive riding experience spans English and Western disciplines, gaited and non-gaited horses, and a decade of endurance riding competitions. She emphasizes lifelong learning and fostering a deep understanding between horse and rider. Pamela has attended many, Natural Horsemanship clinics with local and national trainers.
Juleen: A degree in BS: With 20 years of experience in NATRC competitive trail events, including multiple Regional Championships and completing the 2023 Tevis Cup at 70 years old, Juleen’s focus is on achieving true partnership with her horse. Juleen has attended many, local Natural Horsemanship clinics and completed Chris Cox’s Level 1 & 2 clinics.

LOOKING BACK ON 2024
The Women’s Surface Creek Saddle Club presented four great clinics – April thru July, 2024. We were excited to share our trail riding skills learned over a lifetime of trail riding and trail riding competitions. Our number one emphasis is SAFETY. Safe and Enjoyable Trail Riding is our goal. Everyone needs more TOOLS in their Horsemanship Toolbox.
The Clinics were progressive and build on skills learned in the previous clinic. The first clinic, introduced riders to the basic skills that will be expanded through the next three clinics. At the conclusion of clinic series, horse and rider had developed the skills to negotiate a variety of obstacles that might encountered out on the trail or at Island In The Sky, Trail Trials, August 2024. All levels of riders were encouraged to participate.
