We are a fun loving, inclusive community of equestrians united by an unwavering love for our horses. Our members celebrate the equine world across a vast range of disciplines, including everything from trail riding and horse camping to the competitive focus of dressage, cutting, and ranch versatility.  While rooted in Cedaredge, our members and trail rides span the entirety of the beautiful Western Slope.

Our story began in 1959 in Cedaredge, Colorado, as a group focused on trail riding and parades—traditions we still love! Over the years, WSCSC has evolved to serve a modern equestrian community, embracing competitive trail rides, educational clinics, vital public service, and securing our Non-Profit status to further support our mission. We are proud to welcome members with a variety of disciplines, and all equine types and sizes—including mules and donkeys!

When you join the Women’s Surface Creek Saddle Club, you gain camaraderie, great riding, and dedicated support.  We welcome all levels of experience, offering a full spectrum of adventures—from short, easy trails to highly challenging excursions. You don’t need to own a horse to join the herd!  We host plenty of off-horse activities like parties, campouts, and BBQs. We grow together by supporting each other and actively sharing our knowledge of horsemanship, health, and the well-being of our equine partners.
